Judge Eve Belfance, who is seeking a seat on Ohio's 9th District Court of Appeals, is a judge serving on the Akron Municipal Court.
Judge Belfance believes that safe streets, strong communities and a fair-minded legal system are essential to safeguarding the freedoms of all Ohioans.
As a judge who has handled hundreds of criminal and civil cases, Judge Belfance has demonstrated that she has the integrity, fair-mindedness, diligent work ethic and commitment to excellence that Ohioans deserve on their Court of Appeals.
An Akron native, she has been active in community organizations and neighborhood activities throughout her life. A graduate of Firestone High School, she went on to graduate from Yale University and Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
Her high standards as a judge have earned her the highest rating possible -- "Highly Recommended" -- from the Akron Bar Association. Before her election to the bench, she previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Cleveland State University's Marshall College of Law and as a clerk for a federal judge in Washington, D.C.
A member of the PTA in the Akron Public Schools, Judge Belfance serves on the board of the Women's Endowment Fund and will begin service as a board member of the Akron Bar Foundation. Judge Belfance is actively involved in such professional organizations as the Ohio Judicial Conference Specialized Courts Committee and the Ohio Judicial Conference Library of Reasoned Orders Steering Committee. Judge Belfance is a member of the Humane Society of Greater Akron and a volunteer for the Youth Motivation Task Force. She also serves as the Yale Alumni Schools Committee Director in the Akron area. Judge Belfance has been a lifelong member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Akron. She resides in Akron with her husband, son and daughter.
